Jeb Stuart Sword Belt Hanger
Patented by J.E.B. Stuart in 1859. Soon sold the rights to the US Goverment which became a standard cavalry issue throughout the Civil and Indian Wars.
The sword hanger was in use up until 1900 and made it easy for the trooper to disconnect the sword from the belt when it was not required.

M1851 Cavalry Black Leather Sword Belt

Cavalry Cartridge Belt c1870 – 1875
This is a copy from a 1851 Sword or waist belt with 35 hand sewn cartridge loops for the 45-70 rounds it was wide spread in small garrisons on the frontier, though none regulation it was not uncommon for post saddlers to modify equipment in the field for men. The belt was probably the for-runner for the regulation 1876 Prairie belts made out of canvas and later the 1880 Mills Patent Cartridge Belt.

c1888 Anson Mills Tan Cartridge Belt 4th Pattern
In 1887 the first canvas woven cartridge belt for the cartridges had sewn canvas bullet loops and a frame brass buckle and had come out of the Watervliet Arsenal NY in 1876. Being the first cartridge belt approved by the US Military board to be issued to the Cavalry and Army and was more commonly known as a Prairie Belt. In 1880 the miles board contracted out to Anson Mills and between 1881 and 1890 a new belt plate was added to a similar style belt for the 45/70 cartridge. Over the years five different variants were made.
The buckle was a brass stamped sheet with a raised US in a recessed oval and the reverse of the plate was marked, Ansom Mills. Pat. Feb1.1881 T.C. Orndorff Sole Manf. Worcester Mass U.S.A
Will fit up to a size 52, the bullet loop part of the belt is 30 inches.

M1874 Enlisted & NCO Sabre Belt
The new modern 1874 was a great improvement on the M1872 but still retained the 1872 pattern brass buckle bearing the letters U.S. The belt had two brass slides with loops on the bottom of the detachable sabre slings, this had come about as there had been questions with aboard on whether the sabre had any use in fighting the Indians so the sabre slings were designed to be detached from the sabre belt and attached to the pommel and cantle rings on the saddle.

We have a large stock of items, but are not able to keep every size in every colour, rank, unit. Therefore we make your order once received. Delivery times for items to be made are 6 – 12 weeks. If your order contains items in stock, plus items to be made, then your order will not be shipped until everything is ready. If you require some of the items urgently, please contact us and we can ship items in 2 shipments, but there will be additional shipping to pay and we will send an invoice to you for this.
UK shipment is either by Royal Mail or Parcelforce, if your order is too long for these services then it will be sent via DHL, for instance Inert Muskets. There is an addition cost of this and an invoice will be sent.
We are not mind readers and can accommodate urgent orders, but we need to know at the time or ordering, we keep getting requests for urgent items ordered and at 2 days to go before it is needed are told that the order is urgent!!!!
We are in a difficult economic climate with low demand for some products, so do not keep vast amounts of any item.
Any item which is urgent has a 4 week timescale to source if not in stock. Please bear this in mind.
