By purchasing from us you have entered into our contract.
When you provide information to Civil War Sutler is it is used solely for the purpose it was given and is not given to any third parties.
We do not store credit card details, Paypal does this on our behalf.
Personal Data is only kept only long enough to comply with Legal Obligations.
Payment and Posting
Full payment must be made with order, most stock items are dispatched within 5 working days with receipt, within 7 working days for UK deliveries, 10 working days for overseas.
Payment methods are Paypal and Electronic bank transfers . Card payments can be taken over the telephone in exceptional circumstances, but we prefer the order placed on the website to make sure correct items and details can be taken to be able to fulfil the order.
Out of stock items are usually dispatched within 6-12 weeks of the date of the order.
All payments to be made in UK currency
Merchandise delays are subject to suppliers and Customs Import delays and sometimes can take 6-12 weeks, but this is a rare occasion, this also applies for oversized or bespoke orders.
To make the business more sustainable in the economic climate, all clothing will be made to order with a 12 week turnaround, we do keep a lot of stock, but we find that we always receive orders for items in a different style, colour & rank so please expect the clothing to be made and please be patient, we work hard to get items out to customers within the given timescales, on the very rare occasion we may overrun due delays from suppliers which are out of our control. Rest assured we will fulfil every order.
We will in future only deliver to Mainland Spain and not the Canary Islands due to length of time for delivery. Due to shipping costs we will no longer ship to Malta.
We have a warranty on our shoes/boots, against manufacturing defect in material and workmanship for 6 months. Each case is dealt on its merits. Excessive ware or neglect voids any warranty, (so do not put your shoes next to the camp fire when your feet are cold and wet, or the leather will scorch and become brittle and fall apart)
We like to think that you will like our products and we always guarantee most items we sell, that if you are not totally satisfied, please contact us before returning items. Items should be returned in an unused, unworn condition, unless manufacturing fault. Returns accepted within 14 days of receipt. The method of return is up to the customer and no reimbursement will be made for returns. There will be a re-stocking fee of 10% for any none clothing items, and 20% for items which need to be remade due to incorrect measurements given.
No refunds are available on custom/Bespoke orders or outsized items, unless there is a manufacturing fault.
Cancellations need to be made within 3 days. For Bespoke orders, once we are in the processes of making the item no cancellation can be made. An order cannot be cancelled once shipped.
UK customers will be charged £7 for postage and packaging, and will use different methods of shipping depending upon the fees involved.
Overseas customers will be charged £46.00. If the order is small please let us know and we will re-calculate the shipping for you.
If payment received does not include enough for postage and packaging then the items will not be shipped until cleared payment has been received.
Items in stock will be posted within 5 days of ordering, other items will be dispatched 4 – 8 weeks after cleared payment, unless bespoke or outsized items.

We may be able to offer a shipping discount if the item is being shipped within Europe for orders over £300 if a valid European VAT number is supplied and verified.
We cannot be held responsible for orders of clothing which are dispatched in good faith for the size ordered, but are found not to be big enough, please ensure that you measure yourself before ordering, if you need to return an item for a replacement, then you will be requested to repay the shipping fees again before dispatch.
Though tin ware has been tested for leaks, because of the nature of the construction we cannot be held responsible for leakage on these items, which you will need to be aware of at the time of purchase. Please do not put tin ware over a raging fire as the soldier will melt and leak. You must be aware that it is very hard to accept any tinware returned for refund, unless damaged in the post during delivery. Leakage in tinware would have been the same in 1860 as it is today as the same methods of construction are used.
Some tin ware has been coated in an edible oil which may contain nuts. Please clean thoroughly before use.

PLEASE NOTE UK CITIZENS MUST BE OVER 18 YEARS OF AGE AND WE MAY ASK FOR REENACTMENT OR SOCIETY CONTACT DETAILS, FOR YOU NAME TO BE CHECKED AGAINST TO ENSURE THAT YOU ARE A MEMBER AND OVER 18 YEARS OF AGE. THIS IS TO COMPLY WITH UK VIOLENT CRIME ACT.
OUTSIDE THE UK ALL BUYERS MUST MAKE SURE OF THEIR IMPORT REGULATIONS BEFORE PURCHASING.
Blank Firing Guns
Please note there is a 6 month warranty on blank firing guns. This does not cover if the item has been tampered with (this is illegal, and may result in injury), we will also not refund any item which has been misused.
