US Bounty Hunter Badge – No 7

Bounty Hunter USA Badge story inside the box:

In the Old West there may not have been a lawman around for hundreds of miles. Thus a daring bounty hunter could make a living tracking down wanted outlaws like Jesse James and Billy the Kid, so they could claim the rewards offered for their captures. In 1872, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that bounty hunters were a part of the law enforcement system. However they were basically a free agent and not held to the rules of due process and state lines as lawmen were.

Some famous Bounty Hunters were Charlie Siringo, a Pinkerton Detective, and The Dunn brothers who brought in Charley Pierce and George “Bitter Creek” Newcomb, members of the Doolin-Dalton Gang.
