The new model 1874 was a great improvement for Officers in the field though it was very much the same as the enlisted belt but with the rectangular buckle with a raised bright silver wreath laurel encircling the Arms of the United States
The belt was to have two detachable sabre slings that were designed to be attached to the pommel and cantle rings on the saddle.
Is adjustable and will fit up to a 48 inches, and can go down to a 36 if you put a new hole in the leather. The slides are not fixed so it will go down further if needed.
