Hagner NO 2 Cavalry Cartridge Box
In 1873 the cavalry board agreed the use of the Hagner 45 cal Cartridge Box intended for the 45/70 cal. The Hagner was smaller than the Hagner No1 as it differed in cartridge layout and was thought to of only be issued as a cavalry model although this was not proven. The Hagners were issued as a pair holding 24 rounds in each, these were to stay in use for the next decade.
