M1864 U.S Cal Rifle Cartridge Box with tins and sling
Though basically the same as all the .58 Cal boxes this pattern was to see the U.S Cartridge Box plate eliminated from the front flap along with the embossed breast plate from the sling, this was a largely a Government cost cutting exercise eventual saving the U.S Government thousands of dollars, the box was still being used in the first part of the Indian wars.
Remember you do not need to purchase the Cartridge Box Plate or Breast Plate with this item.
